Safeguarding
Psyon Chess runs junior clubs, after-school clubs in primary schools, and congresses that under-18s enter. The safety and welfare of those children comes before everything else the organisation does.
ECF policy
Psyon Chess follows the English Chess Federation's safeguarding policy. The ECF is the governing body for chess in England and sets the standards its affiliated clubs, organisers and arbiters work to.

Checks and training
DBS status and safeguarding training — not confirmed yet
Whether coaches hold current DBS certificates, and what safeguarding training they have completed, has not been supplied. Nothing is claimed here until it is confirmed. Parents ask this question early, so it is worth answering plainly on this page.
Photography
Photographs that identify children are only published with the consent of a parent or guardian. If a photograph of your child appears on this site and you would like it removed, email satish@chess-uk.com and it will be taken down.
Raising a concern
If you have a concern about a child's safety at a Psyon Chess club, session or event, raise it with Satish Gaekwad at satish@chess-uk.com.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999. You can also contact the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000, or the ECF's safeguarding officer independently of Psyon Chess.
