Psyon Chess promotes social and competitive chess locally. Anyone keen to learn, play and enjoy chess is welcome.

Satish Gaekwad

Psyon Chess is run by Satish Gaekwad, an International Arbiter — the highest arbiting title FIDE awards, held by people qualified to officiate at international level.

In 2023 he organised the Psyon Chess Masters IM Invitational, a norm-eligible tournament — a significantly harder event to run than a weekend congress, and one that gives players a route to international titles without leaving the country.

What Psyon Chess runs

Congresses

FIDE- and ECF-rated congresses across Greater London, Kent, Oxford, Cambridge, Folkestone, Tunbridge Wells and Fareham.

The adult club

Psyon Chess Club meets on Thursday evenings in Chislehurst through the league season.

Junior clubs

Junior clubs in Chislehurst, Bromley and Beckenham for beginners and improvers up to ECF 1200, plus after-school clubs delivered in primary schools.
